Hermeto Pascoal's 1970

He is well known in prog circles for his Slaves Mass, which I found highly disappointing, but to me the first album which I only heard recently was a real surprise and delight.

  2. Hi Dear Julian,

    Excelent post!
Do you know that the favourite song of his career in the opinion of Hermeto Pascoal is "Bebê"?
I think it could be of interest: a jazz-fusion band from Brazil:

  3. Dear Julian
Hermeto is the greatest genuis in Brazilian music, if not one of the world wide ones. Listen to more of his stuff, it is not prog, it's jazz, brazilian folclore, not always easily to digest but always entertaining.
Love your blog .Keep up the good work

  6. On another note: Did you ever find the third Olomana Lp? I had to do a MRI session the other day and the tech was a fan and spun Like A Seabird In The Wind. I have to say,ku'u home o kahaluu mellowed me right out.
I looked for awhile at thrift stores here on Kauai after your new years post way back, I wish I could have helped, but no dice.

Thanks for your great taste, and there no need to post. Aloha.
