Sounds ov [sic] Earth - Solstice (USA, 1986)

Explanation for the odd misspelling of the artist?

A typical late US fusionary album with some very pleasant moments indeed, scant information here.  We've heard so so many records like this one, on this blog and before it....  Seems I never get tired of the sound (ov this earth) though.
Track A6:

  2. I would argue that the use of 'ov' originates from The Temple ov Psychick Youth, an art/spiritual collective around Genesis P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV.

"The reason for the use of the "TOPY "cant"[1]", such as the spelling of "thee" and "ov" in the network's name, derives from the writings of Genesis P-Orridge, which advocate a deconstruction of "normal" or consensus modes of communication in order to achieve a more integrated understanding of the Self (a la the cutups of William S. Burroughs). "[2]

The group Sounds ov Earth was maybe just inspired by Psychick TV etc, given the time...

There was a cool early nineties techno/trance group Psychick Warriors ov Gaia who was related to thee temple.

[1]: A cant (or cryptolect, or secret language) is the jargon or argot of a group, often employed to exclude or mislead people outside the group.

  4. the Psychic TV connect was my first guess too :)
this is really outstanding stuff here, a notch above its contemporaries...
what this is, is the 1986 update of Bruce Palmer's epic 'The Cycle Is Complete' from 1968!!! ;) I know I recognize those themes ;)
...thought I recognized some of those aliases on the back too ;)
and that cover art - wow!
some Time & Love went into this forgotten little crown jewel...
    really treasuring this :) :) :)
    Thank you so much bro!!!

  5. Thanks so much for this one, Julian! This is really great, regardless of what it's actual origin might be. Has anyone reconciled the six tracks and five names issue on Side A?

    1. Answering my own question, it appears from this playlist that "Celtic Air" has two parts and track 6 is "Orpheus":
