I believe prognotfrog posted the Andy Goldner albums, Belleville and Infinity. If anyone needs them reupped, I have them as vinyl and can do this task for you.
Notice that perversely, or rather stoned-ly, both sides are the first side, one is called Side 1 and the other is called Side One. On the bottom of the back is written:
"Play it Loud! Your neighbors might like it."
The music is not quite to the same high standard as the two studio albums, but still quite good. For those who are not familiar with him, Andy was the guitarist in famed German progressive rock band Exmagma (which was much more experimental), whose albums have been rereleased to CD I believe. He is definitely similar to a cross between Lou Reed and Jim Pembroke, with guitarwork by Jimi Hendrix perhaps, highly recommended for any rock fan.
Tomorrow I will be back to do more of the ReR Quarterly installments, we shall try to at least complete the Volume 2 which does in my opinion at least contain quite a few little treasures worth hearing. We will even tentatively delve into the first part of Volume 3, but the sound of the audience leaving the hall may, with quite high probability, possibly even achieving unity, or close to it, cause us to abandon this effort posthaste.

ReplyDeleteI'll post the other 2 Andy albums tomorrow here, so we have completion on this artist, I saw a request for them on the prognotfrog blog so I guess there is some demand for this already.

Infinity album lists 8 tracks but in the archive there are only 7, track B3 (Yolanda) Is missing...
ReplyDeleteHello, please look more carefully, I believe it's there. The problem is the two tracks have no break so I couldn't separate them.
ReplyDeleteNote that like the live album, there are two side ones.
Thanks for the info. The "missing" track is the one beginning at 1:28 of "She's Gone"??
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, that's correct, the tracks She's Gone and Yolanda are the two that are combined. Sorry for the confusion.
ReplyDeleteBuddy, thank you very much for uploading infinity record!!
ReplyDeleteHi Julian, could you re-up Belleville please thanks

DeleteI just asked the following on the site through which I found your site so I might as well ask here as well: Are you at all into a Belgian piano player named Dominique Lawalree? There are exactly two working links for two of his albums online. If he is somebody you like you really should post his stuff here (there must be quite a lot of it - I have at least 8 lp's by him and I stopped collecting him around 1984/1985 when I could not longer find a distributor for his albums in the USA. I would never recommend a bunch of solo piano albums (which is what most of them are) but this guy is always excellent and always wonderful to listen to and the one exception to my rule there. You can find two of his albums (Clandestin and Traces) here if you don't know him and want to check him out (ALL the other DL links on this site are dead): https://continuo.wordpress.com/
As of two days ago the links for those two albums were still working. I have no idea if the reason his stuff is not to be found anywhere else (I have been looking for over a year now) is because he does not want his stuff available as free downloads or if it is because he does not have any sort of fan base that would justify even uploading his stuff in the first place (which would be a real shame if that were the case)
I haven't heard of him. Can you post the two links you have from him?
Deletethese are the two that worked the other day:

See what you think. If I recall correctly Traces is the more unusual of the two (Kind of piano and musique concret and Clandestine is straight solo piano - then again it's been about 6 years since I listened to all of my albums by him. But this is how I remember these two)
