Not long after Jeff Beck, another noteworthy brilliant artist who was once featured here some 4 years ago. By now I've listened to those classic albums of hers hundreds of times, especially the 1974 Ready to Deal, such an absolute masterpiece of energetic vocal progressive funk and fun tracks, like the inimitable Heading in the Right Direction (the song with its own wiki page), but also Spilt Milk and the title track. In January 2023, Geyer was admitted to hospital in Geelong where she had hip surgery. It was subsequently discovered that she had inoperable lung cancer. She died from surgical complications on 17 January 2023 at the age of 69.
